2016 February Wrap Up

Another bad reading month -_-

Not to make excuses or anything, BUT I have been super busy between everyday life things such as taking care of the household/working to the many, many extras this month such as my husband re-enlisting in the military!  Then this past week, I’ve been battling with my neck everyday and today it was mega dick.  I woke up and thought, “IS THIS REAL LIFE?!”.. I couldn’t move my neck, argh, so much painnnnn!  So needless to say, it’s the first day of March and I haven’t even touched a book yet.  STARTING OFF THE MONTH STRONG GAIZ!  Hopefully I can read a bit tonight, the pain meds have kicked in and I’ve been trying to be as active as possible around the house to keep my muscle from tensing.  Then later, muscle relaxers.  I expect much of you my little white, roundy friend.

Maybe I’ll start another book – the one I’m currently reading is boring me.  But I also want to just finish it to get it out of the way.  The struggle.

Total Books = 4
Average Rating = 3.5

1.) Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas – 4/5
2.) The Painted Lady by Amanda Moncrefe – 0/5
3.) Galadria: Peter Huddleston and the Rites of Passage by Miguel Lopez de Leon – 5/5
4.) Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas – 5/5

Minus the one st00pid book, this was a great month for good books!  Hope you guys did better than moi!

Happy Reading! xo

I didn’t do much better than you in numbers. In my defense though, I am taking to writing courses right now (why did I think that was a good idea when I registered in Jan?), so I’ve done LOTS of textbook readings, but not much free reading. Hope you feel better soon! (out of curiousity, what’s “the one st00pid book” that you can’t seem to finish?)

LOL – The Painted Lady on said list. It was one of those self published books and it was god awful and super dirty. Not like sexy, flirty dirty but more so porno found at the bottom of a dumpster dirty. I felt like I needed to shower after the first few pages 😛

Ugh! I just read some of the reviews on Goodreads, and while the synopsis sounds good (which it should, it’s supposed to sell the book) I totally agree with your review. I enjoy a well-written romance novel (and even some not-so-well written 😛 ), but this one just sound awful, even in the 5star reviews! I’ll be sure to steer clear of it in the future!

Haha the cover and the synopsis sold me! But the synopsis is like 1/16th of the book. The rest is literally hard nipples and wet vaginas from dudes this chick doesn’t know (and the only thing we know about the dude is he’s an arrogant moron).. I was so disappointed in this.. and most of the other reviews are people she knows (some of them only had her book/her profile on the GR account.. -_-) it was just baaaad. I’ve only read one other book like this where I gave it a 0 star review and of course it was another self published thing. I like supporting people but sometimes self publishing is the worst thing to happen in the book world IMO :\ anyone can write a book now and this book proved that :[

Just so you know, I’ve slunk back to Goodread Giveaways (I tend to go in spurts where I visit every week, then don’t look for months or years, in this case) I’m pretty picky about the ones I enter though.

I literally went through all 98 pages of the giveaways between last night and this morning? (Why did I do that? I should have been working on my English paper. Oh well, too late now!)

Oh jeez haha I have a morning routine that includes taking care of my furbabies – coffee – checking blog/insta – going through the daily giveaways on GR (I sort by ending soon) haha

Sounds like my routine: get up, coffee, insta/social media (usually just a check, generally post around 2), then homework/classes/chores/work until about 6, with a break to post around 2 if I remember. Looks like I’ll be adding Goodread Giveaways to my social media check 🙂
